Sedalia Missouri CPAs | Get Involved With Your CPA

Finding Sedalia Missouri CPAs can be hard to do! But not when you have someone like Hood CPAs in your corner!  We understand the importance of finding a CPA that shares your values. We also understand the importance of making it easy for our clients to engage with our CPA. That’s why we offer a wide range of engagement options. To help you find the best fit for your needs, we’ve separated our client engagement into two sections:

Needs Basedengagement

This is when you need to meet certain requirements in order to move forward with a contract. Define what those requirements are and then search for a CPA that meets them.

At Hood, we have partnered with several CPA firms that specialize in different areas of tax preparation. If you are required to have a CPA prepare your taxes, consult the individual firms to learn if they offer any programs that can help you reduce your tax burden.

Varied Scope of Practice

Some CPA firms have specialized in specific areas of tax preparation. If you are interested in a particular area, it is best to speak with a Sedalia Missouri CPAs that is qualified in that area. However, don’t let your interest in an individual firm’s area stop you from also engaging with other areas of their practice.

Do You Require a Specialized Attorney?

Will There Be Any Better Sedalia Missouri CPAs To Learn About?

While it is possible for a CPA to take on too much, it’s not likely. Generally, when you see the word “tax” next to a person’s name, you are speaking with a specialized attorney. However, as a CPA myself, I can tell you that our firm hasprovided tremendous value, and while we may not have the exact same level of expertise as some of our competitors, our fees are still lower than those of the large firms, and our service is still superior.

Audit or Assistant?

When you speak with a Sedalia Missouri CPAs, you will be asked about your tax situation. If you haven’t hired a CPA before,  you may not know how to answer these questions.  So, here is a short explanation of the difference between an audit and an assistant. An audit is a full-service CPA firm that does nothing but prepare your tax returns. They are “lived” within the community, and know exactly what local attorneys and local tax preparers do. Because of this, they can be very helpful in finding you the best tax preparer in your area.

While an assistant isn’t a CPA, they still have many of the same advantages as a CPA. For example, they can help you to save money by shopping your tax returns for things that you should have included on your tax returns.  Or, they can help you to get a lower rate on your tax returns by Itemizing your deductions.

If you have an actual audit prepared by a Sedalia Missouri CPAs, be sure to check the box on your tax return.  An assistant doesn’t  – and shouldn’t – prepare your tax returns.

Should I Have a Professional Help With My Tax Preparation?

Tax preparation is an involved process that involves many steps and details. If you prefer, you can prepare your own tax returns, but I recommend that you don’t try to prepare more than one at a time. Chapter 5 of the tax guidebook provides an excellent overview of the tax preparation process.

While you shouldn’t need a professional assistance with your tax preparation, you can reach out to some otheroked professionals for help. For example, you can hire a solid-estate agent to handle the sale of your home, or you can engage in some other business activity. A business agent will be able to provide you with options for reducing your taxes or avoiding taxes altogether.

Remember, however, that while some special tactics may help you to reduce your taxes, every person’s tax situation is unique. The personal approach that  you take to tax preparation will vary depending on your situation. If you want to ensure that you’re doing everything optimally, I recommend that you review the tax guidebook, including chapters 5 and 6.

Is My Business Transforming or Just Growing?

Transforming your business means changing the way your business operates. This can be difficult to do when you’re running a business that is already successful. You can avoid the mistake of thinking that your success  means you can continue doing things the way you always have.

The great thing about being in business for yourself is that you have the option to make changes. You can alter your retirement plan, start a new project, or even leave your business if it’s not working out. It’s important to remember that no matter how successful or unsuccessful your business is, you’re still “just getting started.”
